Tragic

DJ AM and Travis Barker were involved in a plane crash early this morning. They are the only survivors. The pilot, co-pilot and 2 of Travis' employees are dead.

The plane, a Learjet 60, crashed during takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. Both are currently being treated for severe burns at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia. Barker was transported there by ambulance and DJ AM was airlifted.

Both were able to escape the burning wreckage through the door and an eyewitness said they were running from the burning plane and patting each other to put out the flames.

Barker reportedly is burned from the waist down and DJ AM sustained injury to his face.

Shanna Moakler, Travis' ex-wife and DJ AM's sister and brother-in-law have all left for Georgia.

Shanna's mother spoke with People.com saying, Moakler is "totally crushed." Also saying, "Our heart pours out. We're hoping he recovers. The family is rallying around him and saying our prayers." They have two children, 4 and 2 years old.

UsMagazine.com is reporting that Nicole Richie, "is in shock, She wishes only the best for Adam and hopes he recovers from this," the friend reportedly told the site. "She's horribly upset about the people who died." The friend added that Richie's current beau, Good Charlotte's Joel Madden, "knows Travis and also feels terrible and hopes they recover. This is terrible news for both of them." Nicole was formerly engaged to the disc jockey.

Lexington County Deputy Coroner Brian Setree confirmed for MTV News on Saturday morning that three men and a woman were killed in the crash: the plane's pilot, Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim, California; co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, California; Barker's assistant, Chris "Little Chris" Baker, 29, of Studio City, California; and Barker's security guard, Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles.
